Chapter 1
Dante
Dante wiped his face with a soft towel and tied his overgrown raven hair in a ponytail. He mostly caught the hair on the top of his head, leaving many shorter strands free from the lace. The edges of the mirror had scratches and heavy traces of rust, but his reflection never looked fresher. The mirror was a hand-me-down from work, like most of his possessions in this mountain cabin.
Dante glanced sideways at where his lover slept peacefully in their bed. Raphael’s face was half-buried in the soft pillow as he lay on his side, while both his arms stretched over the empty side with a Danteshaped imprint on the sheets.
The morning was sunny and calm, no distant howl of the wind. This part of the mountain was treacherous with the weather and it often made the cabin walls creak.
The cabin itself was small, with a single room, but it had everything a loving couple needed. A working wood stove kept them warm during the chilly nights. There was a large storage box under the dining table. And the double bed kept them safe and cozy. The walls were littered with coat hangers, holding all the clothes they possessed…which wasn’t many. Author Reni Stankova has a fantastic sense of pacing that keeps a reader interested in the story and always knows when to shift tones in this heady mix of action, romance, and theological intrigue. It certainly makes for a concept that draws you in. I wanted to stay for the characters to find out more about their intense struggles. I adored the dialogue and all the unsaid things that Stankova lets simmer beneath the surface.
The chemistry between Raphael and Dante is electric from cover to cover, making their struggles all the more poignant and keeping us rooting for them. The plot twists were numerous, but they didn’t feel overdone or sensationalised because the confident narration and well-planned events are logical and grounded in reality. This makes for a thrilling, globe-spanning chase that keeps readers breathless from start to finish. — Readers’ Favorite

This was a fantastic, well-written and exciting book. I loved getting sucked into this story so quickly. I felt as if I was part of the story and that’s always a good sign. This is the second book I have read by this author and I am now a huge fan! This was riveting and I so did not want it to end, but as with all good things, it did. I will be waiting impatiently for the next book. I hope you love this series as much as I do. I had the best time!

I read book 1 and 2. This storyline is original and epic in making. Reni has created a high fantasy journey with an intriguing storyline that covers a family legacy that spans generations. With political intrigue, adventure, and an enduring love that will change the world! Eagerly awaiting book 3.
